Exceptional French Henri II Style Carved Walnut Bookcase, c. 1880, the pierced finialed crown over a setback center door with a glazed upper panel over a wood lower panel, flanked by turned tapered reeded columns, and cupboard doors with ten mullioned green glazed upper panels over lower wooden panels, on a base with three frieze drawers, on a stepped sloping plinth on turned bun feet, H.- 99 in., W.- 86 in., D.- 20 1/2 in.
Condition: “Wear and imperfections from age, use, and movement.” There is one interior divider running up and down inside the cabinet. There are 4 adjustable height shelves which go from one side of the center door to the side of the cabinet. (one shelf is pictured) There are 4 sets of slats for the side compartment as well but there are no shelves for the side cabinet. I supposed they would be very easy to make if needed. This may not be the original interior configuration of the cabinet.” Only 2 finials present.
