A magnificent late 19th-century French Henri II Revival stepback display bookcase, masterfully crafted in richly figured oak with exceptional architectural detailing and bold Renaissance-inspired carving throughout.
The upper section is crowned by an impressive split pediment centered with a carved crest and features four glazed cabinet doors that open to spacious interior shelving, providing abundant display space for books, fine china, collectibles, or decorative objects.
The lower cabinet is fitted with four raised-panel doors offering generous enclosed storage. Throughout the cabinet, finely executed carvings of scrolling foliage, stylized masks, and classical Renaissance ornament demonstrate the high level of craftsmanship associated with quality French furniture of the period.
